Solar Energy

In a time when planet’s natural resources are dwindling quickly, solar energy has the potential to revolutionize the way the world keeps itself powered up. By harnessing the power of the sun, we can generate clean, renewable energy without many of the adverse effects of using fossil fuels. Fortunately, modern technology is making this easier and easier to accomplish.

On average, the Earth receives enough solar energy in one hour to power most of the planet for an entire year. As it stands now, we are only capable of harnessing the smallest fraction of the available energy from the sun, but even this small amount has great potential. As the solar technology industry continues to improve the efficiency of solar panels, this will only improve our ability to use natural sunlight to power our homes and cities.

Harnessing solar energy is not strictly limited to the use of solar panels. In truth, nearly every commonly used renewable energy source can be attributed to the sun. Wind, for instance, is caused by heated air from the surface moving to higher elevations, where it cools and then flows back down to the surface. Even fossil fuels own their existence to the sun, as most of these substances were, millions of years ago, plants that relied on the sun for life.
